In 1996, the gloriously monickered LeechWoman were heralded by the British press as the UK's premier unsigned act. Following a number of high profile gigs with Ultraviolence, Foetus, and Godflesh among many others, the band signed to Invisible and is now set to release their highly anticipated debut, 33 degrees.
Produced by Martin Atkins (Pigface), the album captures the raw intensity of the band's live show and features a bonus remix by Atkins. One part screaming, sonic industrialism and two parts totally alien, LeechWoman redefine the popular concept of melody, banging out their tribal beats using a combination of gas canisters, washing machine parts, and angle grinders.
A compelling experience both live and on record, LeechWoman is a band to keep an eye on in 1997.
